ATO Campaigns

In recent months the ATO has been sending communication letters directly to clients bypassing us as tax agents. This is part of the ATO’s new letter Campaign.

These letters reference a review of declarations made in your tax return or for business owners, may refer to income tax, GST or even Fringe Benefit Tax obligations. 

Whilst every endeavour is being made to retrieve all correspondence by the ATO, from our discussions with the Tax office these letters are deliberately being sent direct to taxpayers and bypassing tax agents. No record of this correspondence is available to us after it has been issued.

If you receive a letter directly from the ATO as part of this new campaign please reach out to us as soon as possible so we are able to review and respond to the ATO in a timely manner as most require a response within 28 days.

There have also been clients who have not received their quarterly PAYG notifications from the ATO. Please log into your MyGov account and update your communication preference and contact details to ensure you receive these notifications in accordance with your preferences.
