Paul Bolstad and Alex Berlee commenced as financial planners in Crows Nest, Sydney in 1997. For the first years, AGS was a financial planning practice — focused on retirement, super and wealth strategies for individuals and families.
Over time, the team recognised that their clients' financial lives didn't fit neatly inside a single discipline. In the early years, Paul and Alex began providing mortgage broking themselves alongside financial planning — an early signal of the integrated model the firm would eventually become. Accounting came later, through the 2011 acquisition of the GAN business in Caringbah — a combined accounting and financial planning firm that brought accounting and a well-developed SMSF practice into AGS for the first time, and established what is now the Miranda office. The firm then expanded into Melbourne and Brisbane.
What began as separate services gradually became something more deliberate: a firm where your financial planner, accountant and mortgage broker work as a single coordinated team. Today, AGS operates six offices across Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane, serves over 6,000 clients, and manages more than $2.5 billion of client investments.
